Dr. Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong. He completed his undergraduate physical therapy training at the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1991. In 1993, he immigrated to the United States and lived in Boston, MA, where he worked as a licensed physical therapist. Dr. Chan later on attended Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston where he graduated with a Master of Science in Physical therapy in 2000, and a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003. He completed a Manual Therapy Advanced Skills Course at Kaiser Physical Therapy Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2000. Dr. Chan is also a board certified clinical specialist in orthopedics physical therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 1997. He has extensive experience in the management of a wide range of orthopedic conditions and sports related injuries, including spinal back and neck pain, shoulder pathomechanics and knee rehabilitation.

 

Dr. Chan had lived in Hong Kong from 2001 to 2005 where he served as the sports medicine coordinator at the Hong Kong Sports Institute and provided physical therapy services to the elite athletes who represented Hong Kong in all major sports events including the Olympic Game. He had also conducted sports injury prevention program and clinical research. In recent years, he has been treating many senior patients with balance dysfunction and has developed a new interest in the area of fall prevention for the geriatric population.
